Sometimes I Stay Inside Because It’s Too Peopley

Sometimes I stay inside because it is just too peopley, especially outside. It is the middle of winter so there are not a lot of people out on the streets, and you can be in your car or on foot for hours and never see another soul. In the mall there are so many people you can hardly see through the glass doors. The stores are always overcrowded; even though it is cold outside. That is why I like to stay inside.

All the sudden I am reminded of the old Halloween saying “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it”. I love that saying, because it has always stuck with me. So here I am in my cute little t-shirt and skinny jeans, drinking a coffee, eating granola bars, and I have a big smile on my face because the Grinch is dead. Now, I know that most of you don’t think that way but that’s fine. There are plenty of other things that make me happy.

I still hear the Grinch song in my head, and sometimes when I look at my reflection in the mirror I think about him. Noticing that he is smiling when he walks into the room makes me laugh. Sometimes I think about the people who wrote songs about him, because it makes me smile even when I am feeling down. That Grinch makes me feel alive sometimes, like a kid again, all alone and free.
